This resource is primarily for use by  Australian secondary students. Inquiry based learning, use of information, communications and technology (ICT), student directed learning and self assessment are the tools that you will acquire here. Technology in Education is the basis for my Masters research that is being undertaken at Deakin University, Geelong.

Professionally, I am a secondary VCE Legal Studies, Accounting and Business teacher in Victoria. I have also been a Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) assessor for Legal Studies for the past 7 years and was the VCAA State Reviewer for Legal Studies from 2016 – 2019. I am a registered provider of adult and community education specialising in professional development for Legal Studies teachers. As a teacher of law, I wish to share these resources with students as they embark upon their Victorian Certificate of Education.

Students that seek higher order thinking need to be challenged. The law is a dynamic area of study and the basic texts we use merely scratch the surface of the study design. There is no substitute for reading cases and gaining an insight into a judge’s ratio decidendi.

Note: This site is dedicated to the memory of my indigenous friend Ronald ‘Tonky’ Logan (1952 -2008).

Tonky became a well-known Townsville radio presenter and country music legend. His country music program, ‘Tonky’s Country Country’, grew from a two-hour request program to a four-hour national show that ran for almost 14 years on Townsville’s 4K1G radio station. Tonky also inspired many other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to achieve their personal and career goals. He was always an advocate of justice for his peoples and believed our legal system achieved that purpose.

In some small way I hope I am continuing Tonky’s work by helping others as they pursue their goals in the law. Whilst I strongly believe in our justice system, I am always looking at ways that the law can be reformed.
